Dieter Wall

Dieter Wall (* 1932 in Stolp ; † March 12, 2010 ) was honorary professor of economics and played a key role in the development of scientific data processing in Germany.

Life

Between 1952 and 1964 he first studied mathematics and physics for teaching at RWTH Aachen University and at the universities of Munich and Hamburg. In 1968 he received his doctorate in agriculture from the Max Planck Society . After founding the Gesellschaft für Wissenschaftlichen Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen , he became head of the computer center and then authorized signatory and then managing director. In addition, he was a lecturer for the organization and use of computer centers in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Göttingen from 1982 to 1985 and honorary professor from 1985. In 1997 he retired. In 1998 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit by Thomas Oppermann 1st class presented.
