Dieter Walter (musician)
Dieter Richard Walter (born June 29, 1937 in Dresden ) is a German jazz and entertainment musician ( horn ) and music editor.
Walter studied between 1955 and 1958 at the "Carl Maria von Weber" University of Music in Dresden . From 1959 to 1973 he was a horn player in the Dresden Dance Symphony under Günter Hörig , with whom he made several recordings and made international guest appearances.
From 1973 to 1982 he was head of the dance music department and music editor at GDR television . In 1974 he initiated the television broadcast of the International Dixieland Festival from Dresden and supervised a. a. the show " Guess it ". In 1982 he took over the management of the theater department at the publishing house " Lied der Zeit ". From 1985 to 1990 he was mayor of the Rangsdorf community .
