After 31 league games with four goals and eight cup games with one goal, Weber then left SC Empor.

In the summer of 1963 Weber moved to Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt , where he played in the second-rate GDR league until the end of the 1968/69 season. After making a modest contribution to the steelworkers' promotion to the league with two appearances this season, Weber finally ended his football career in the second team of the Eisenhüttenstadt team.
