Dieter Zobl

Dieter Zobl (born November 23, 1944 in Zurich ; legal domicile in Rüschlikon ) is a Swiss law scholar and emeritus full professor for private , commercial and banking law at the University of Zurich .

Life

Zobl - grew up in Rüschlikon near Zurich - studied law at the University of Zurich and did his doctorate in 1973 with Arthur Meier-Hayoz with a dissertation on the subject of changes in the number of people in general humanities to the Dr. iur. In 1970 he acquired the Zurich notary patent and in 1974 he was admitted to the bar . After research assistant, notarial and legal practice, Zobl joined the Zürcher Kantonalbank in 1976 , where he headed the legal department until 1988. During this time he was also a specialist judge for banking at the Commercial Court of the Canton of Zurich. In 1982 he completed his habilitation at the University of Zurich. In the summer semester of 1988, Zobl was appointed full professor of private, commercial and banking law as the successor to Arthur Meier-Hayoz . From 2002–2004, Zobl was Dean of the Faculty of Law . A commemorative publication was published for his 60th birthday. At the end of the autumn semester 2009/2010, Zobl retired. In addition to his work as a professor, he was a full member of the Court of Cassation of the Canton of Zurich and various legal bodies for several years . Since March 2010 Zobl is Of Counsel at the law firm Homburger in Zurich.

In the military he holds the rank of major in military justice a. D. Zobl is married to Evelyne Zobl-Walt, dipl. Mathematician UZH, has three grown children and lives in Rüschlikon.
