Diethart Kahlert

Diethart Kahlert (born July 4, 1941 , † March 16,  2004 in Hamburg ) was a German politician and administrative officer . From 1999 until his death he was mayor of the city of Wedel .

Life

In 1978 the civil engineer became head of the building authority of the city of Wedel and in 1992 first city councilor. In the mayoral election in February 1999, the non-party Kahlert prevailed against Gerd Brockmann .

Kahlert died during his tenure as mayor on March 16, 2004, he succumbed to cancer after he had not been able to carry out his official duties since 2003 due to the illness.
