Ottendorf-Klethen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ottendorf-Klethen was a municipality in the Lower Saxony district of Stade , which existed until 1972. It consisted of the villages Ottendorf and Klethen .

Before 1848, the villages of Ottendorf, which was presumably an extension of Klethen, and Klethen were still two independent communities that belonged to the Börde Ahlerstedt in the Harsefeld district . Due to the proximity of the villages, a community association was formed; the municipal administration was in Ottendorf. From 1964 to 1972 the community belonged to the Ahlerstedt joint community .

In the course of the regional reform , the municipality of Ottendorf-Klethen was merged into the municipality of Ahlerstedt . Klethen is now included in Ottendorf.

Even today there is a great sense of togetherness between the two villages: the two districts share a fire brigade and various clubs.
