Dietmar Hennecke

Dietmar K. Hennecke (born August 16, 1939 in Düsseldorf ) is a German mechanical engineer .

Live and act

Dietmar Hennecke studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University from 1959 to 1964 . With a scholarship from the Volkswagen Foundation, he became a Research Fellow at the University of Minnesota, USA. In 1970 he received his doctorate under Ernst Eckert (1904–2004). He then worked in the development department of MTU Aero Engines in Munich. From 1984 to 2004 he was a professor in the mechanical engineering department at the Technical University of Darmstadt . Until his retirement he was head of the aircraft propulsion department, from 1993 gas turbines and aircraft propulsion systems. During this time, Hennecke carried out research in the areas of transonic compressors, compressor stability, mixing processes in combustion chambers and turbine blade cooling. In 1994/95 he was dean of the mechanical engineering department.

Hennecke was a member of the TU Darmstadt Foundation's Board of Trustees for many years . In addition, he is Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Fritz and Margot Faudi Foundation.
