Dietmar Müller (born January 29, 1940 in Chemnitz-Röhrsdorf ) is a German professor of circuit and system design .

Dietmar Müller studied electrical engineering at the TU Dresden from 1958 to 1964. He then wrote his doctorate in 1968 on the topic of contribution to automatic character recognition by examining the classifiability of point-scanned characters by evaluating the frequency content and the entropy distribution . His habilitation in 1973 was titled Processes and Device Concepts for Automatic Multiple Character Recognition . After working in industry ( Robotron ) and as a research assistant, he was appointed full professor for circuit and system design at the TU Chemnitz in 1983 . The focus of his research was in the field of ASIC design. In 2005 he was retired.

Dietmar Müller has been a member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences since 2000 . He is also a member of the German Academy for Technical Sciences (acatech) .
