Dietrich-Alex Koch (* 1942 in Königsberg / Pr. ) Is a German Protestant theologian . His area of ​​expertise is the New Testament and the history of early Christianity .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1963, Dietrich-Alex Koch studied Protestant theology in Göttingen, Heidelberg and Berlin. He passed the first theological exam in 1972. He received his doctorate in theology from the University of Göttingen in 1975 , and in the same year he passed the second theological exam. From 1975 to 1977 he was pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanover . He then became a temporary professor at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , where he completed his habilitation in 1983 . From 1985 he was Professor of the New Testament at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . In 2008 Dietrich-Alex Koch retired .
