Gertrud Ramlo

Gertrud Ramlo (born April 4, 1913 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary as Gertrude Kugel ; died April 8, 1997 in Vienna) was an Austrian actress.

Life

Gertrude Kugel attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 1929 to 1932 and made her acting debut in 1932 at the Salzburg State Theater . Her engagement at the Nuremberg City Theater was terminated because she had been racially discriminated against as a so - called half - Jew in the German Reich before 1933 . In 1933 Ramlo was hired in Strasbourg , Alsace . In 1935 she appeared in the cabaret Literatur am Naschmarkt in Vienna and had guest roles at the Theater in der Josefstadt and at the Volkstheater . In 1936/37 she had an engagement at the Schauspielhaus Zurich . In 1937 she married the theater critic Hans Weigel (1908–1991), and they divorced in 1947.

After the "Anschluss" of Austria in 1938, both had to emigrate and they were expatriated by the German Reich. At first she received only one piece contract at the Stadttheater Basel .

After the end of the Second World War, both returned to Vienna, and she appeared again at Viennese theaters, including the Theater in der Josefstadt. In 1962 she had a guest role at the Salzburg Festival .

Ramlo had various minor roles in film and television.
