Dietrich Bergner

Dietrich Albert Bergner (born August 18, 1931 in Merseburg ) is a German materials scientist and university professor.

Life

Dietrich Bergner passed the Abitur in 1950 in Müuellen (Geiseltal) . He worked at the Lützkendorf mineral oil plant until 1952 and trained as a chemical specialist.

From 1952 he studied physics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . In 1955 he moved to the Technical University of Dresden , where he finished his studies as a graduate engineer for physical nuclear technology in 1958. He worked as an assistant in Dresden for four years and began working at the Institute for Metallurgy at the Freiberg Bergakademie in 1962 . In 1964 he completed his doctorate.

From 1964 to 1972 he headed the metal physics department at the Freiberg Research Institute for NF Metals , after which he returned to the Bergakademie as a lecturer. In 1977 he completed his doctorate B .

In 1978 he was appointed full professor at the Bergakademie. Until 1986 he was head of the physical metallurgy and metallic materials department. After the reunification of Germany, he was appointed Professor of New Law for Theoretical Materials Science. In 1996 he retired.

Dietrich Bergner (co-) authored around 105 publications and supervised 35 dissertations and habilitation theses.
