Dietrich I of Katlenburg

Dietrich I von Katlenburg († September 10, 1056, fell near Prizlava Castle) was the son of Count Udo and Bertrada (Beatrix) (from Swabia). He was count in Lies- and Rittigau with the Einbeck estate and at times Vogt in Liesborn. He was closely associated with Otto von Northeim .

In contemporary sources he is mentioned, like his father Udo, without the addition to his name. Whether he the resulting probably in the 11th century Katlenburg in today Katlenburg built or expanded as their manor, is unknown.

Emperor Heinrich III. had sent him together with Margrave Wilhelm von der Nordmark against the Liutizen (Slavs). They were beaten and fell, and a. with Bernhard von Domersleben near Prizlava Castle ( Werben (Elbe) ), which "lies on the banks of the Albis (Elbe) river, where it takes in the Habola ( Havel ) river ".

He married Bertrada von Holland, daughter of Count Dietrich III. from Holland ( Gerulfinger ).
