Dietrich Stratmann

Dietrich Stratmann (born September 4, 1937 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

In Berlin, Dietrich Stratmann attended elementary school and the Carusius-Kolleg high school, where he graduated from high school in 1956. He studied physics at the Technical University of Berlin and at the University of Göttingen and received his doctorate in 1970 in Göttingen.

At the same time, he worked from 1964 in Lindau (Eichsfeld) as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Aeronomy , where he was deputy head of the computer center until he was elected to the state parliament in 1982. From 1986 to 1990 he worked there again.

Stratmann joined the CDU in 1956. From 1970 to 1974 he took over the chairmanship of the Northeim city ​​association of the CDU and from 1974 to 1979 he was chairman of the district association of the CDU in Northeim. He was a member of the advisory board of the working group hydropower plants Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. From 1972 to 1990 he was elected to the Northeim City Council and was an alderman there. From 1974 to 1990 he was also a member of the district council in the Northeim district.

From June 21, 1982 to June 20, 1986 (10th electoral term) and from February 19, 1990 to 2003 (11th to 14th electoral term, with interruption) he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. From January 16, 1991 to June 20, 1994, he chaired the Committee on the Environment.

He is married and has two children.
