Dietrich VIII of Gemmingen

Dietrich VIII. Von Gemmingen († January 4, 1542 ) was the landlord in Steinegg and Tiefenbronn .

Life

He was a son of Bernhard von Gemmingen († 1518) and Anna Truchsessin von Buchishausen from the Steinegg line of the barons of Gemmingen . His year of birth is not known, but he grew up from 1504, when he was in the Bavarian feud to feud letter against the Palatinate with signed.

Together with his brother Otto, he acquired property in what is now Enzkreis. In 1519 Otto and Dietrich divided the paternal inheritance and the other property, whereby Otto got Heimsheim and Mühlhausen , while Dietrich Steinegg and Tiefenbronn got .

In 1536 he bought a house in Predigergässlein in Pforzheim . This house was later acquired by the margravial government and designated as a diaconate residence. In 1538 Dietrich compared himself to Margrave Ernst because of the course of the Mumbach through the goods in Neuhausen.

His tomb is preserved in the church of St. Maria Magdalena in Tiefenbronn .

family

From 1510 he was married to Katharina von Neuhausen (1481–1563). He is the progenitor of the 1st branch (Steinegg) of Gemmingen-Steinegg .
