The focus is on the content-related discussion of graphics, animation , net art , software art , hacktivism and interactive art and the like in the context of digital art or computers.

Computer art is presented in the online museum DAM and the two galleries "[DAM] Berlin" and "[DAM] Cologne". From 2004 to 2005, animations and software art were presented daily on the 20 square meter LED screen of the Sony Center and in this way reached a wide audience. The project was restarted in 2011. The program changes every 3–4 months.

Online museum

The Digital Art Museum was founded in 1998 as an online museum. The declared aim is to develop a forum for the history and practice of digital art and at the same time to improve market opportunities for artists. Museum offers a comparative documentation of the creative phases of the artists.

The museum was designed and developed by Wolf Lieser. Mike King as a lecturer at Guildhall University , London enabled initial funding from the AHRB Art and Humanities Research Board. The Digital Art Museum logo (the [DAM] symbol) and the design of this page are licensed from Kerry J. Andrews; Alan Hicks was responsible for the technical implementation.

Lieser and the advisory staff are responsible for selecting the artists on the website. Suggestions can be made by any of the members. The committee consists of 7 experts from the field of digital media:

Galleries

Wolf Lieser founded a gallery for contemporary art in Wiesbaden in 1994 and, since 1999, has also been involved in the Colville Place Gallery in London, which was opened by Keith Watson in 1997, the first gallery for digital art. In 2002 both galleries were closed. In spring 2003 Lieser opened the gallery [DAM] Berlin, followed in 2010 by [DAM] Cologne. Both contemporary young computer artists and pioneers of digital art are represented in the premises.
