DILAS Diodenlaser is a German manufacturer of semiconductor lasers for industrial applications, both as an OEM manufacturer and as a provider of complete systems. The company is a subsidiary of Coherent Inc. from the USA.

Historical development

In 1994 DILAS Diodenlaser GmbH was founded in Mainz . In 1997 the company was integrated into the globally operating Rofin-Sinar group. A subsidiary was opened in 2005 as DILAS Diode Laser, Inc. in Tucson , Arizona (USA). In 2007 DILAS produced the most powerful diode laser to date with a power of 11 kW . In 2008 a further branch was established as DILAS Diodenlaser China Co., Ltd. opened in Shanghai (China). At the beginning of 2016, Rofin-Sinar Inc. merged its two business units DILAS Diodenlaser GmbH, Mainz and m2k-Laser, Freiburg, in order to better utilize synergy effects in semiconductor processing. In September 2016 Coherent Inc. and Rofin-Sinar Inc. merged, since then DILAS has been part of Coherent and was initially continued as co-branding Coherent-DILAS . In 2019 the logo was changed to Coherent .
