Dimbokro Station on the Abidjan-Niger Railway

Dimbokro is a city in the center of Ivory Coast and the capital of the administrative region of N'zi-Comoé . It is located 200 km north of the economic metropolis of Abidjan and 95 km south-east of the capital Yamoussoukro on the N'Zi river and belongs to the Baule region .
According to the 2014 census, the population is 64,957.
history
On January 30, 1950, in response to a nationwide strike against imported goods and in defense of prices for African coffee and cocoa producers, and several demonstrations that led to the release of many leaders of the Parti Démocratique de Côte d'Ivoire (PDCI ) called for bloody reactions from the colonial administration. In Dimbokro there were 14 dead and 50 injured. The local commander fired at the crowd that had demonstrated in front of his residence.
Dimbokro and Dimbokro train station are on the Abidjan-Niger Railway , West Africa's only international rail link. In 2016, the Dimbokro railway bridge over the N'Zi collapsed when a train passed it. It was rebuilt within a year.
