Lacs ( French lacs "lakes" ) is a district of the Ivory Coast , located in the eastern center of the country.

It borders in the northeast on Zanzan (with the Gontougou region ), in the east on Comoé (with the Indénié-Djuablin region ), in the south on Lagunes (with the regions La Mé and Agnéby-Tiassa ), in the west on the capital district Yamoussoukro and in North-west on the Vallée du Bandama (with the regions Gbêkê and Hambol ). The district is divided into the regions Bélier , Iffou , Moronou and N'zi , the capital is Dimbokro . Lacs has existed since September 28, 2011, when the districts replaced the regions as the highest administrative unit. The new district emerged from the Lacs and N'zi-Comoé regions . According to the 2014 census, the district has 1,605,286 people, resulting in a population density of 44.2 inhabitants per km².
