Dimitar Stoyanov

Dimitar Kinow Stojanow ( Bulgarian Димитър Кинов Стоянов ; born May 17, 1983 in Sofia , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian politician and member of the European Parliament for the nationalist Ataka party , of which he was a member until 2011. In the course of Bulgaria's admission to the European Union , he has been a member of the European Parliament since January 1, 2007 , where he was a member of the board of the Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty Group .

Stoyanov had been deputy chairman of the Ataka party since April 17, 2005 . He is a member of the 40th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria and has been parliamentary secretary there since July 11, 2005. From September 2005 to December 31, 2006, Stoyanov was a member of the Bulgarian EU Parliament observer delegation . In this role he came under criticism after racist and sexist remarks about MEP Lívia Járóka .

Since August 2005 Stojanow is a member of the board of the Bulgarian Fencing Federation.

In 2007 Stoyanov was elected to the European Parliament via the Ataka party list and re-elected in 2009 .

On November 19, 2011, Stoyanov was expelled from the Ataka party at a party congress for devaluing and blackening the party after he demanded the resignation of party leader Wolen Siderow .
