Dimitar Telkijski (also Telkiyski written in Bulgarian Димитър Телкийски ; born May 5, 1977 in Plovdiv ) is a Bulgarian football player. His position is midfield . His nickname is Metscho (Bulgarian: Мечо, German bear).

Career

Telkijski began his career in 1990 with Botew Plovdiv in his hometown of Plovdiv and played there until 1999. From 1996 to 1999 he played 62 games in Botev's first team. In 1999 he moved to Levski Sofia for the first time and stayed there until 2008. For Sofia he completed 198 A Grupa games and scored 56 goals. His greatest achievement was when he took part in the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League , where Levski reached the group stage. He was also five times Bulgarian champion and five times Bulgarian cup winner. In 2008 he moved to Israel for one season at Hapoel Tel Aviv , where he was voted Player of the Year 2008 by the fans. In 2009 he moved to Amkar Perm in Russia for half a year . After only four games without a goal he moved back to Levski Sofia in 2009.

In the winter break of the 2011/12 season Telkijski moved to the Bulgarian first division club FC Chernomorez Burgas and after the end of the season to Lokomotiv Sofia . He has been without a club since mid-2013.

National team

Dimitar Telkijski has also played for the Bulgarian national soccer team since 2005 . So far he has played 22 games and scored three times.
