Dimitris Rallis

Dimitris Rallis ( Greek Δημήτρης Ράλλης ; * 1952 in Athens ) is a Greek diplomat .

Career

Rallis studied law at the University of Athens and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an embassy attaché in 1976. He was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in 1995. In 1998 and 1999 he was envoy of the Greek Embassy in Moscow , then from 1999 to 2004 Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of Greece to the European Union in Brussels .

From 2005 to 2009 he was ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus . In 2009 he returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Director General for EU Affairs. From June 2010 to March 2013 he was ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany .
