Dina Iljinitschna Rubina ( Russian Дина Ильи́нична Ру́бина ; born September 19, 1953 in Tashkent ) is a Russian-Israeli writer who writes her works in Russian.

biography

Dina Rubina was born on September 19, 1953 in Tashkent as the daughter of a history teacher and a painter. She graduated from a music school in Tashkent and later taught at the conservatory . In 1984 she moved to Moscow and, like many Jews, emigrated to Israel with her family in 1990, shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union . Today she lives with her husband Boris Karafelov, a freelance painter, in Maʿale Adummim, not far from Jerusalem.

Rubina has written over fifty books, some of which have been translated into as many as twenty languages. Her most successful works include "Вот идет Мессия!" ("Here comes the Messiah!") And "Синдикат" (" Syndicate "). In German translation there is only "Here comes the Messiah!", "The last boar from the woods of Pontevedra" and "The white dove of Córdoba".

Literary prizes

  • Award of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the musical comedy "Wonderful Doira", which is based on an Uzbek legend.
  • Aryeh-Dolchin-Preis (Israel) for the book "Один интеллигент уселся на дороге" ("An intellectual set off").
  • Award of the Association of Writers in Israel for the novel "Here comes the Messiah!".
  • The Russian award "Big Book" in 2007 for the novel " На солнечной стороне улицы " ("On the sunny side of the street").
  • Award of Oleg Tabakov's Charity Fund in March 2008 for the story " Адам и Мирьям " ("Adam and Miriam"), which was published in 2007 in the magazine "Friendship of Nations".
  • Award "Portal" in April 2009 for the novel "Writings of Leonardo".
