The Dinea Gastronomie GmbH operates food service at 61 locations in Germany . “Dinea” are self-service restaurants in Galeria Kaufhof department stores.
The company, based in Cologne , was founded in 1982 and has almost 1,500 employees. The brand name "Dinea" was introduced after the takeover of Horten AG by Kaufhof, whose restaurants previously appeared under the names "Bel-Terine" (Kaufhof) and "bon appetite" (Horten).
After being separated from the Metro Group , it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Galeria Kaufhof GmbH again since 2010 and achieved sales of 300 million euros in 2010. The travel catering business with 31 Axxe motorway service stations and 7 "Axxe motels " was transferred to Tank & Rast in 2009 .
