Dinucleotide

A dinucleotide , also written dinucleotide , is the chemical union of two nucleotides .

Examples:

• The nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide called NAD + for short and its derivative NADPH play an important role in the respiratory chain .
• The flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) plays a role in metabolic processes
• The CpG dinucleotide is important for the immune defense of vertebrates against pathogenic bacteria and viruses.
• c-AMP-GMP is a cyclic dinucleotide and a secondary messenger substance in delta proteobacteria.
