Diogo Manuel de Noronha

Diogo Manuel de Noronha, 6th Marquês de Tancos, 12th Conde da Atalaia (born January 23, 1859 - † December 15, 1929 ) was a Portuguese nobleman who inherited the title of 6th Marquês de Tancos in 1907 .

Life

Diogo Manuel de Noronha, son of Duarte Manuel de Noronha , 5th Marquês de Tancos, 11th Conde da Atalaia, and his wife Maria Bernardina de Mendonça Corte Real Sousa Tavares, was an engineer and inherited after his father's death on May 15, 1906 the title created on October 22, 1751 as 6th Marquês de Tancos and the title created on July 17, 1583 as 12th Conde da Atalaia. Both titles were officially awarded to him by decree of June 12, 1907. In 1908 he became Par do Reino and thereby a member of the Câmara dos Digníssimos Pares do Reino , the upper house of parliament ( Cortes ) , to which he belonged until the end of the monarchy after the abdication of King Manuel II on October 5, 1910.
