Duarte Manuel de Noronha

Duarte Manuel de Noronha, 5th Marquês de Tancos, 11th Conde da Atalaia (born February 10, 1827 , † May 15, 1906 in Benfica , Lisbon ) was a Portuguese nobleman who inherited the title of 5th Marquês de Tancos in 1866 .

Life

Duarte Manuel de Noronha, son of António Manuel de Noronha , 10th Conde da Atalaia, and his wife Margarida Luísa de Sousa Coutinho, inherited Duarte Manuel de Meneses e Noronha , 4th Marquês de Tancos, 9th Conde da after the death of his grandfather Atalaia, on August 18, 1833, the title created on October 22, 1751 as 4th Marquês de Tancos, which his father refused to accept, while he accepted the title of 10th Conde da Atalaia. He was interested in music, was a horn player and a member of the Academia Real de Amadores de Musica . On November 29, 1856, he married Maria Bernardina de Mendonça Corte Real Sousa Tavares, the only daughter and heiress of Mariana Augusta de Mendonça Corte Real Sousa Tavares, 10th Senhora de Mira, and her husband António Xavier da Gama Lobo Salema. After his father's death in 1886, he inherited the title created on July 17, 1583 as the 11th Conde da Atalaia.

After his death, his son Diogo Manuel de Noronha inherited the titles of 6th Marquês de Tancos and 12th Conde da Atalaia.
