Dirk Elwert

Dirk Elwert (* 1960 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German dramaturge , producer and presenter . He became known as a member of the jury for the Sat.1 dance / casting show You Can Dance .

Life

Dirk Elwert attended the advanced high school on Rathausplatz in Gelsenkirchen. After graduating from high school , he studied theater, film and television studies in Cologne . He gained experience on and behind the stage as an assistant director at the Musiktheater im Revier

In 1992 he went to the ballet of the Städtische Bühnen Nürnberg as a dramaturge , two years later he became a board member of the Tanzwerk Nürnberg. In 1996 he became director of the Ballet Nürnberg / TANZWERK. In 1999 he moved to the Tanztheater Basel as a manager . In the 2001/2002 season, Dirk Elwert was manager of the dance company at the Oldenburg State Theater .

Dirk Elwert has been the artistic project manager and freelance dramaturge at The.Lab art & media in Berlin since autumn 2002 . In addition to his work as a dramaturge (including with Giselle ... about love and other difficulties ... 2006 in Cologne), he works as a moderator (at the choreography competition no ballet / + phat_skillz // dance 2007 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) and made a name for himself as a jury member in 2006/2007 at You Can Dance . Dirk Elwert is the producer of the dancical Petrushka and dance productions by the choreographers Susanne Linke, Meryl Tankard and Shang Chi Sun. He directed various dance festivals.

In 2012 and 2013 Elwert worked as a specialist mediator for the dance sector at the Leipzig location of the central foreign and specialist placement of the Federal Employment Agency .
