Dirk Ewald

Dirk Ewald (born October 28,  1969 ) is a former German basketball player .

career

As a player, Ewald was part of the TuS Herten team, which played in the basketball league in the 1990/91 season but missed relegation in the top German division. The 1.94 meter tall builder and winger later played for FC Schalke 04 , BG Dorsten and ETB Essen .

In 2007 he became a sports manager in Herten, during his term of office he also achieved second place in the final table of the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in 2010. In the summer break of 2013, he switched from managerial post to coaching. After a year as head coach, Ewald then acted as assistant coach in the 2014/15 season. As a youth coach, he led the male U14s of the Hertener Löwen to the German runner-up in the 2011/12 season; In February 2015 he left the Hertener Löwen. In June 2015 he took over the coaching position at Marler BC in the 2nd regional league and later played again as a player at MBC (then in the regional league).
