Dirk Lommerse

Dirk Lommerse (born August 3,  1975 in Ipswich (Queensland) ) is a former Dutch - Australian basketball player .

career

Lommerse was born in Australia to a Dutch father and a British mother and grew up in Brisbane . He played for the Brisbane Bullets before moving to Hiwassee College in the US state of Tennessee . He then stayed at Southwest Baptist University (US state Missouri ) and from 1996 to 1998 at the University of North Carolina Asheville. With a total of 77 blocked litters, he was in fourth place in 1998 on the all-time best list of "UNC Asheville". It was used in 56 games between 1996 and 1998 and scored an average of 5.7 points as well as 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per match for the university team.

The 2.05 meter indoor player played for the German Bundesliga club SSV Ratiopharm Ulm in 1998/99 and achieved an average of 6.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in 32 appearances. In his second professional year 1999/2000 Lommerse was under contract with SG Braunschweig  (also in the basketball league ), he came in 25 games for the Lower Saxony on 2.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. In 2000 he moved to Würzburg within the league . In 30 games of the 2000/01 season, Lommerse reached an average of 4.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per encounter. Lommerse was a Dutch international.
