Dirk Schmidt (Illustrator)

Dirk Schmidt (* 1980 in Hamburg ) is a German illustrator and designer. His work appears in the Süddeutsche Zeitung , in Geo and Monocle , among others .

Life

Dirk Schmidt studied communication design at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences . Since 2004 he has worked for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , first for Jetzt , later for the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin and the team for digital design. Since 2004 he has been illustrating the weekly column The Best from All Over the World (formerly: The Best of My Life ) by Axel Hacke in the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin . He writes children's books together with Barbara Schmidt. His first book Kamfu help me? was implemented as an audio book and translated into several languages. Dirk Schmidt also designs book covers, exhibitions and packaging. He lives with his family in Munich.
