Dirk Werner (mathematician)

Dirk Werner (born April 28, 1955 in Hamm ) is a German mathematician whose research deals, among other things, with M-ideals in Banach spaces . He is an adjunct professor at the Institute for Mathematics at the Free University of Berlin .

Life

Werner received his doctorate in 1986 at the Free University of Berlin under Ehrhard Behrends with a dissertation on the subject of "L- and M-structure in tensor products of Banach spaces". He is the author of over 50 scientific publications and two textbooks on functional analysis and higher analysis .

In addition to Klaus Hulek, he is the deputy editor-in-chief of the zbMATH database (formerly Zentralblatt MATH).
