Dirtsman (* 1966 in Spanish Town as Patrick Thompson ; † December 21, 1993 ibid) was a Jamaican dancehall musician.

life and career

Dirtsman was the brother of dancehall artist Papa San , her father was the operator of the Black Universal Sound System . Dirtsman started his career with his father's Sound System and later switched to the Creation Rock Tower System from Willowdene. He's been making records since the mid-1980s, his first hit being Thank You in 1990 , followed by Borrow Man and the single, Hot This Year, produced by Philip Smart in New York . Dirtsman was at the beginning of an international career, he had recently signed a recording contract with BMG when he was ambushed and shot by four gunmen on the porch of his house on December 21, 1993 at the age of only 27.
