The Rotary Unit Company Ltd. was a British automobile manufacturer operating in Wooburn , Buckinghamshire between 1920 and 1923 . The brand name was Unit .

The 8.9 hp came onto the market in 1920 . This was a small car with an air-cooled two-cylinder in - line engine , which was installed in the rear and had a displacement of 1.0 l. The light car had a wheelbase of 2591 mm and a track width of 1067 mm.

In 1923 it was replaced by the larger 10 hp , which had a water-cooled four - cylinder in-line engine in the front of the vehicle with a displacement of 1.25 l. The engine was supplied by Coventry-Climax . Two wheelbases were available, 2591 mm and 2743 mm. The track width was 1118 mm.

In the same year the company fell victim to the global economic crisis .
