The Mendip Engineering Co. Ltd. was a British automobile manufacturer in Chewton Mendip ( Somerset ). A small car was built there in 1913–1922 .

The Mendip 11 hp appeared in 1913 with a side-controlled 1.1 l four-cylinder in-line engine. The chassis of the small car had a wheelbase of 2515 mm. In 1914 the displacement was increased by increasing the stroke from 77 mm to 90 mm and then to 93 mm, first to 1.27 l and then to 1.3 l.

The First World War initially ended production. In 1919 it was revived with the same model, which now had a displacement of 1.25 liters with a stroke of 89 mm. The wheelbase had also shrunk to 2,489 mm. In the same year, however, a version appeared with an enlarged stroke of 95 mm, which gave it a displacement of 1.35 l. The wheelbase grew back to its old size. This version was built unchanged until 1922 when the brand disappeared from the market.
