Company history
EJY Rutherford and George Hamilton founded the company in Highclere near Newbury in 1907 and began producing automobiles. The brand name was initially EJYR , from 1908 Rutherford . Production ended in 1912. In total, only a few copies were made.

The company made steam cars. The first model was the 30/40 HP . A three-cylinder - steam engine driving a propeller shaft to the rear axle. The steam boiler was a Serpollet boiler . The touring car had space for five people. The model was presented at the 1907 and 1908 Olympia Shows . The price was 575 pounds .
In 1911 a model with a more powerful engine appeared, which was offered for 400 pounds.
