George A. Barnes was a British manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles .

Company history

George A. Barnes founded the company in the London Borough of Lewisham in 1904 and began producing automobiles and motorcycles. The brand name was Barnes . In 1905 the company moved to the London borough of Deptford . Production ended in 1906.

vehicles

First, three-wheelers were created. The 5 HP motor  was mounted in front of the front wheels and drove the individual rear wheel via a chain or belt. The price was £ 60.90 . Engines with 6, 8 and 12 hp were also available later.

In 1905 a four-wheeled vehicle appeared. The vehicle was powered by a four-cylinder engine with 12 hp. There was a choice of two and four-seater bodies.
