EW Hart & Company was a British importer and manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Ernest W. Hart founded the company in Luton in 1900 and began importing vehicles from the Lohner works . Between 1900 and 1903 he also manufactured his own automobiles. The brand names were Hart and Lutonia . Production ended in 1903. Hart later sold Austro-Daimler vehicles .

One model was a purely electric car . It had an electric motor with 2.5 hp in each of the wheel hubs, so it had four-wheel drive . Another model was a hybrid electric car . The gasoline engine developed 40 hp.
Brand name Lutonia
This model was powered by a single, rear-mounted electric motor with 2 hp. Bergmann from Berlin supplied the engine. The open body offered space for two people.
