Globe (Hitchon)

Globe was a British automobile brand that was owned by Hitchon Gear & Automobile Co. Ltd. from 1904 to 1907 . in Accrington, Lancashire . John Weller of Weller Brothers was a partner in the company. The vehicles were also marketed as Hitchon-Weller . A total of between 12 and 24 vehicles were built.

In 1904 the Globe 9 hp , designed by Alfred Hitchon, appeared. The small car had a single-cylinder engine with 1.3 liters displacement and a wheelbase of 1981 mm.

It was joined by the larger Globe 12/14 hp in the same year . The four-seat touring car had a four-cylinder in-line engine from White & Poppe with a displacement of 1.8 liters. Its wheelbase was 2540 mm.

In 1906 an even larger model was presented, the Globe 22/25 hp . It too had a four-cylinder engine, albeit with a displacement of 4.2 liters. Its chassis had a wheelbase of 2692 mm.

In 1907 the company had to close its doors.
