Springfield Cycle Company Ltd. was a British manufacturer of bicycles and automobiles .

Company history

The company from Sandiacre near Nottingham made bicycles. An advertisement from January 1, 1898 has survived. In 1900 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Valkyrie . Automobile production ended in the same year.

Automobiles

The only model was a small car that resembled French voiturettes . A built-in engine from De Dion-Bouton with 3.5 HP power was mounted at the front under a bonnet and drove the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The transmission had three gears.
