Allard & Co Limited was a British manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

The company was founded in Coventry in 1889 . In 1891 the production of bicycles began . In 1897 motorcycles and 1899 automobiles added to the range. The brand name was Allard . In 1902 came the merger with the Birmingham Motor Manufacturing and Supply Co Limited of Birmingham . The new company was called Rex Motor Manufacturing Co Limited .

Automobiles

The first models were a tricycle that resembled De Dion-Bouton's Tricycles and the Express , which resembled the Benz of the time . A single cylinder engine with a displacement of 500 cm³ was used. From 1900 the Charette model was produced for International Motor Car . The last model was the 9 HP from 1902.
