Company history
Thomas Clarkson and Herbert Capel founded the company in the London borough of Dalston in 1899 and began producing automobiles. The brand name was Clarkson . Production ended in 1902 and the successor company was Chelmsford Limited .
vehicles
The company made steam cars. The most important product line was commercial vehicles , alongside a few cars. In 1899, two vehicles were presented at an automobile exhibition in Richmond. One model had the steam engine in the stern. It offered space for six people, plus the driver who was seated behind the passengers. The other model was smaller and derived from the Viktoria carriage type .
