Phoenix was a British automobile brand that existed between 1903 and 1927. The first manufacturer was the Phoenix Motor Company from London from 1903 to 1911 and Phoenix Motors from Letchworth Garden City in the county of Hertfordshire from 1911 to 1927 . There was no connection with Phoenix Motor Works of Southport , which used the same brand name between 1902 and 1904.

description

In 1903 the first four-wheel series model appeared with the name Phoenix, a tiny runabout with only one seat and a single-cylinder front engine . From 1907 a number of two-cylinder models with side-controlled engines followed. The first four-cylinder model did not come out until 1913 . It was built until 1916 and relaunched in 1918 after the First World War . In 1920 a four-cylinder model with an overhead camshaft came out. It was only built for two years. It was replaced by a smaller four-cylinder model with overhead valves . At the same time, a six-cylinder model with the same design was added.

The company ran into economic difficulties as early as the mid-1920s and had to close its doors in 1927.
