FW Bond Co.

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The FW Bond Co. Ltd. was a British car manufacturer in Brighouse, Yorkshire . From 1923 to 1928, mid-range cars with four- and six-cylinder engines were produced there.

The first model was the 20 hp , which appeared in 1923 and was powered by a side-controlled 3.2 l in-line six-cylinder engine from US production. The wheelbase of the car was 3,010 mm.

In 1924 this first car was fitted with four- and six-cylinder engines from British production (probably by Meadows ). The 14/40 hp had an overhead four-cylinder in-line engine with 2.1 l displacement, while the otherwise identical Six had a six-cylinder in-line engine with 3.2 l displacement.

Then in 1927 the 12/50 hp appeared , a sports car with a side-controlled Meadows four-cylinder, which drew an output of 52 hp (38 kW) from a displacement of 1.5 l. At 2,667 mm, its wheelbase was significantly smaller than that of its predecessor. However, only a few copies were made by 1928.

Bond closed its doors in 1928.
