McKenzie Motors

McKenzie was a British car manufacturer from Birmingham . From 1913 the company was called Thomas McKenzie , from 1920 McKenzie Motors Limited . Production ended in 1926.

The company made models of the lower middle class . In 1913 the McKenzie 9 hp was introduced, which had a side-controlled four - cylinder in - line engine with a displacement of 1.2 l . The wheelbase of the vehicle was 2591 mm. In the second year of the First World War , production was stopped and only started again in 1919. This second 9 hp had an overhead engine with a displacement of 1.1 l. The wheelbase had shrunk to 2515 mm.

In 1920 the 9 hp was joined by the larger McKenzie 10.8 hp . The car had the old wheelbase of 2591 mm and a 1.5 liter engine. Both models were built until 1925.

This year the McKenzie 11.9 hp replaced the two models. Its displacement was also 1.5 l and its wheelbase grew to 2667 mm.

In 1926 the brand disappeared again from the market.
