Clement Motor
The Clement Motor Co. Ltd. was a British automobile manufacturer based in Coventry (Warwickshire) . Middle-class cars were built there from 1907 to 1914 . The company's roots were in France with the Clément-Bayard company . Mostly, however, vehicles were created that were based on designs by the Swift Motor Company .
In 1907 the 10/12 hp with a 1.7-liter two-cylinder in-line engine was presented. By the end of production in 1912, the displacement increased to 1.8 liters. This car was accompanied by two four-cylinder models : the 14/18 hp initially had a displacement of 2.7 l; by 1911, however, this had fallen to 2.3 liters. The 18/28 hp had a 3.7 liter engine, the displacement of which had dropped to 3.6 liters by 1912.
In 1913 two new four-cylinder models came out: the 12/14 hp with 1.9 l displacement and another 14/18 hp with 3.05 l displacement. In 1914 a 16/20 hp was added at short notice .
At the end of 1914, production ceased with the start of the First World War . The corresponding models then appeared as Swift .
