North British Motor Manufacturing Company Ltd. was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

D. McKay Drummond ran McKinnel's Foundry , which manufactured steam tractors, iron bridges, and agricultural equipment. In 1907 he manufactured an automobile for his own use. In the same year he founded an independent company in Dumfries and began series production. The brand name was Drummond until 1909 , then NB . Production ended in 1911. A total of over 125 vehicles were built. Arrol-Johnston took over the company.

The first 20/24 HP with a four-cylinder engine remained a one-off. This was followed by two series models, both also with four-cylinder engines. The water-cooled engine of the 14/16 HP had a 95 mm bore , 102 mm stroke and 2893 cm³ displacement . With a wheelbase of 2591 mm, the vehicle was 3581 mm long and 1600 mm wide. The 20/24 HP had a larger displacement. The engines were mounted in the front of the vehicle and powered the rear axle via a cardan shaft . There was a choice of two and four-seater bodies.

Brand name NB

The only model was the 10 HP . A two-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1652 cm³ propelled the vehicle.
