Dalgliesh-Gullane was a British car brand. The name Dalgleish-Gullane is often used in literature .

Company history

The company Haddington Motor Engineering Company of Haddington in East Lothian began in 1907 with the production of automobiles . Production ended in 1908. A total of around 10 vehicles were built.

There was only one model. A water-cooled single - cylinder built -in engine from De Dion-Bouton with an output of 8  hp provided the drive . The displacement was either 863 cm³, 1130 cm³ or 1200 cm³ depending on the source. The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The open body offered space for two people. The maximum speed was given as 50 km / h.

One vehicle has been preserved and is owned by a Swiss collector. It bears the chassis number S 1231. The vehicle was used, among other things, on the 2001 Bertha Benz ride and several times at the International Ibbenbüren Schnauferl Meeting . During the summer of 2012, the vehicle was in the special exhibition When the Cars Learned to Run in the Pantheon Basel in Muttenz , Switzerland .
