Gordon Armstrong East Riding Garage
The Gordon Armstrong East Riding Garage was a British automobile manufacturer based in Beverley (Yorkshire) from 1909 to 1916 . The parent company was the Armstrong Patents Company , which still produces shock absorbers for cars today. Gordon Armstrong was the founder of both companies . Prototypes were made from 1909.
In 1912 the first series model of the cycle car was presented, the Gordon 8 hp . It was equipped with an air-cooled V2 engine with a displacement of 1.1 l. The wheelbase was 2438 mm.
In 1914, this first model was replaced by the Gordon 9 hp with the same engine, but reduced wheelbase to 2286 mm. It was accompanied by the Gordon 10 hp small car , which combined the wheelbase of the 8 hp with a larger engine with a displacement of 1.35 l. Later the 9 hp with the large wheelbase was also available and was water-cooled.
In 1915 another Gordon 10 hp appeared , which was equipped with a water-cooled four-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 1.1 l. Both wheelbases were available.
The First World War ended production in 1916. It was no longer opened after the war.
