Sebastián Ágreda

Sebastián Ágreda (* 1795 in Potosí ; † December 18, 1875 in La Paz ) was a Bolivian general and politician and president of his country.

Ágreda initially made a career in the military . After heading the Chuquisaca Military Academy , President Andrés de Santa Cruz appointed him Commander-in-Chief of the Army. Due to his successful work in the fight against Argentina during the Batalla de Montenegro (1838), he was celebrated as a national hero in Bolivia. Sebastián Ágreda held various political offices throughout his life and was President of Bolivia for just under a month from June 10 to July 9, 1841.
