Iden 12/16 hp (1905)

The Ides Motor Car Co. Ltd. was a British automobile manufacturer who was based in Coventry (Warwickshire) from 1904 to 1908 .

Passenger cars were built with four- and eight-cylinder engines installed in the front that drove the rear wheels. Noteworthy is the 12 hp model introduced in 1908 with a V2 engine and front-wheel drive - the first in the UK.

The sales figures, especially those of the front-wheel drive model, were not enough to keep vehicle production going after 1908. It wasn't until 1928 that Alvis presented the next British front-wheel drive automobile.
